Bay Girls’ Softball Program Overview
Open to all girls, ages 6 – 15.
Planned divisions:
Pigtail – grades K, 1,2 – Coach pitch, no umpire
Ponytail – grades 3 & 4 – Player Fast-Pitch, teen umpire
Royal – grades 5 & 6 – Player Fast-Pitch, teen umpire
Rocket – grades 7 – 9 – Player Fast-Pitch, teen umpire
Each team to be Managed & Coached by parents or adult volunteer
Published rules for each division that will be strictly followed (modified ASA Rules )
Training clinics for new coaches and umpires
Team practices & Games in the evening, to allow parent coaching and attendance by players in Summer day-care
Practices to begin in May (not necessarily on in-fields) to focus on fundamentals & rules
10 game schedule (plus play-off games) to start early June
Player clinics to teach fundamentals & techniques
Funding by registration fees, sponsorships, and fund raisers
